Join Ron Paul, audit the Federal Reerve!

The Federal Reserve has always operated with insufficient scrutiny. It can enter into agreements with foreign central banks and foreign governments, and the GAO is prohibited from auditing or even seeing these agreements.

Write your Representatives and tell them to join 124 Congressmen in support of HR 1207.

Presidential Candidates & The SPP
The Security and Prosperity Partnership Of North America has been around for quite some time now, yet it's discussion is far away from the Presidential debate. In fact, Ron Paul has been one of the few Congressmen opposed to such "partnership". There is a reason FOX and the talking heads are keeping Ron Paul out of their limelights. They don't want a well-informed and well-educated constituency. We do! If you don't know what the SPP is, please visit the thread.

It’s All About Independence: Nationalism, Imperialism, and the Fourth of July

It’s All About Independence

Nationalism, Imperialism, and the Fourth of July

by Justin Raimondo
, July 03, 2009

Here it is, the fourth of July, and international fireworks are going off in a spectacular, albeit scary display of pyrotechnics. An American president who campaigned and won as the “peace” candidate, the one who would exhibit more caution in foreign affairs, is opening up a whole new front in George W. Bush’s “war on terror.” In the “Afpak” theater, Obama is launching an unprecedented wave of military aggression on a scale not seen since Hitler’s invasion of the Soviet Union — although more “pro-American” commentators might want to compare it to the D-Day invasion.

In any case, by the time Obama’s war has reached its height, those 130,000 US soldiers being pulled out of Iraq’s cities will be fighting in Afg ...

Police seeking record US aid to avoid layoffs
The Associated Press
Posted: 07/02/2009 12:07:27 PM PDT

WASHINGTON - The nation's police departments are clamoring for an unprecedented amount of federal aid to forestall big local tax hikes or the possible layoff of nearly 40,000 police officers - enough to staff the entire New York City Police Department.
When President Barack Obama signed the huge economic stimulus bill earlier this year, $1 billion was set aside to help local and state police avoid layoffs or keep their police academy classes intact.

The response has been staggering: Departments applied for more than $8.3 billion in aid, meaning only a fraction of the demand can actually be met.

July will be a nervous month for mayors and police commanders as they await offic ...

Spies like us: NSA to build huge facility in Utah

http://www.sltrib.com/news/ci_12735293

The Salt Lake Tribune

Hoping to protect its top-secret operations by decentralizing its massive computer hubs, the National Security Agency will build a 1-million-square-foot data center at Utah's Camp Williams.

The years-in-the-making project, which may cost billions over time, got a $181 million start last week when President Obama signed a war spending bill in which Congress agreed to pay for primary construction, power access and security infrastructure. The enormous building, which will have a footprint about three times the size of the Utah State Capitol building, will be constructed on a 200-acre site near the Utah National Guard facility's runway.

Congressional records show that initial construction -- which may be ...

Debasing the Currency is Leading to Financial Collapse ~A Short History of Int..

. . . Just As It Has for Thousands of Years

I am giving Graybeard credit for the short version.  I moved on to the 22 page study
and sent him the link to the long version.

    His comments:
Thanks, Sushi.  That's a long piece, but once I started--I couldn't 'put it down'.  Yes,  I think
that it's valuable (and interesting) information. Maybe it will even inspire someone to buy gold
    and silver.

Since it's so long, it would probably be helpful to mention that it's well worth reading-if one is
    interested in history and/or money.

In a fascinating 22-page study of money and currency, Christopher Weber shows that every
